Once the cropped images are exported everything else is thrown away, no one can get it back from the exported cropped . But what Google does is their editor never exports so all you have to do is hit reset it's just like backing up and in Lightroom or anything else it never becomes a separate individual image with Google and a lot of those online editors do that.

It depends on the format you used to export. If you use a PSD from Photoshop, crops can be undone as long as you leave 'delete cropped pixels' unchecked.

But psd is a photo shop extension. Do other editors read and edit that format other than Adobe?

I've not noticed this, so I must have the box checked. I'll have to check when I get home. I'm in the hospital right now. Been here since Sunday morning. Had a mini stroke. I'm doing good, no side affects and the spot on the brain is small as a pencil dot, talk small.

Another stupid post by USET ID. Serving zero purpose and adding nothing to the thread but showing his troll like behavior like EVERY one of his post. SMHL, total clown on here.

This appeared quite recently. I don't know if it's accurate either sometimes or always. PDF attached. If it is true even sometimes then it may be important to photographers generally, not merely "whistleblowers".

Whistleblowers Take Note: Don’t Trust Cropping Tools

Cropping tools like those in Google Docs allow viewers to see the full, original images.

Some other editors do read the psd format. I don't use many other editors so I don't have a list but I believe GIMP will read psd files.

I think if you crop, save as JPEG, and go from there you'll be ok - I don't think there exists an image that can't be improved by cropping

Affinity Photo reads, edits and saves in PSD format. It also preserves all cropped data unless you overtly tell it to trim the cropped area out.
Version 2 seems a bit quirky with PSD formats however. Version 1 had no issues in my experiences. Actually ver 2 has a number of issues that ver 1 didn't have.

Yes - but what about a scenario where a married guy needs photographic proof of where he was but without the girlfriend sitting next to him?

He should hire people to lie for him and omit the photo.

Sorry to learn of your stroke. Hoping you are back among the well soon. Hospitals are scary places.

Whistleblower to a crop? What a croc of sh*t! Is there some morality clause that is violated when one wants to crop a photo?

Sorry, much ado about nothing!

Agree. Back in the film days, I would sometimes crop an image by walking toward it. Come to think of it, I still do that sometimes.
