Prediction of Iridium Flare was obtained from Heavens-Above at:
http://www.heavens-above.comThese are very easy and simple astronomical photographs to do. Iridium flares occur all over the world almost every night. This was an exceptionally bright one and usually there are around a dozen or so each year that are of this magnitude. If you want to try your hand at this, go to Heavens-Above web site and look at the list of Daily Predictions of Visible Satellites. Try your test photos on the brighter satellites (check the one marked 3.5 in minimum brightness). You can also find predictions for the International Space Station and this method works equally well with it and any satellite also.
