I have friends in Germany and have visited Germany and they really do not understand how we as a people can allow the corporations control the government against the best interests of the people. They look at the news reports and consider us barbarians....their word not mine...this is coming from Germans...think about if Germans think you are a barbarian then there are issues that must be addressed.

Why do you hide your location? I certainly want people to know who I am and where I am from so that they can weigh my words in the context of where I live and who I am. I did not speak one word against the sick, blind, infirm, widows and orphans. I do agree with the 1601 poor laws which state that we are obligated to take care of those who, for whatever reason, are unable to take care of themselves. We have no God given requirement to care for those who refuse to take care of themselves. Quite the contrary, "let him who will not work not eat". If you want book chapter and verse I can supply that as well if you are not well read enough to know it or find it for yourself. The truth is not something that I claim as my own nor do I claim to have an over abundence of it. I do have opinions which sometimes reveal truth, and sometimes I am able to quote facts which are truth but they do not belong to me. They belong to everyone who cares to find them. If you think I was on a rant you need to speak to my sons, they would tell you that I am not even wound up. Anything less than 10 pages is a short conversation.

Oh my word, it doesn't matter where you find truth, it is still the truth; the truth will stand when the world's on fire!! I am not as old as some of you, only 67 1/2, but during the last 30 years that I worked everyday I was self-employeed, which means I had hundreds of bosses, the govt included. I went from being the only person to having 25 people earning anywhere from 15 - 25 dollars an hour. I preached saving for the winter and never in all those years did one person other than my sons do that. They would complain that it wasn't fair when winter came but still the next year they did not save during the good times. What they never knew was that my net income was no greater than theirs I only managed it better. So now they complain that I got rich off their labor, my income now is less than 20K annually but I live comfortably because I know the difference between my wants and my needs. I do not appreciate anyone wanting to take what I have worked for and giving it to those who won't work or won't manage what they have.
Oh my word, it doesn't matter where you find truth... (show quote)

Quite a long rant . Beware the people who hold the truth, they are the fanatics at work who kill others who don't hold with their truth. The rant really says that workers never appreciate the boss and never work as hard as the boss. This has always been true in all ages and places. As for those who won't work or won't manage they have always been here but does this mean we forget the widow and orphan. The rant agrees with these Dikens quotes from" A Christmas Carol" -- " Are there no workhouses ... The poor .. had best die and decrease the surplus population" Do we really need to return to the society of Victorian England ?

TEN Pages means you have a lot of spare time on your hands and very long-suffering sons.. As to the truth, Mark Twain said that," there are lies, damn lies and statistics ! " Hopefully you are really doing your own analysis to determine your beliefs. Don't let others provide you with "facts" that you can not verify for yourself by research into other sources. Perception is more powerful than REALITY & the easy way out is to follow one's comfortable perceptions. Don't just "accept store-bought facts" sold by others with an agenda. Be an informed voter and citizen and realize that no one has lock on "The Truth" and be careful, "the truth" has been used time and time again to justify god-awful actions.

So Americans wants to be like Europe nonsense take a good look around the world most of them are in the toilet others are about to fall in the same cesspool so why in hell do we want to be like nut jobs ruining those countries. Social Justus is a load of crap. Individualism is best way no question about it. Small government lower taxes in fact a flat tax is much better. Term limits on all politician state & federal. One can still hope for this to happen once these folks wake up. I still think that the Democratic Party and GOP have run this country long enough I dump these non working fill their own pockets parties there has to something better IMOH.

People think that only corporations are buying laws. The problem is that we have the best govt money can buy. Politicians get up there and promise all sorts of things to people - handouts galore - if they just vote for them. It's really no different than lobbyists seeking new laws that favor this industry or that.

Healthcare, cell phones, mortgage assistance, food stamps, gas cards, electricity, unemployment, 51% stake in GM, legalized blackmail to prevent a company (Boeing) from expanding to right to work states, the list goes on.

Please don't even attempt to claim that a large portion of our population does not get free handouts for doing nothing (literally).

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president."

I read this "Praha" newspaper quote somewhere earlier, and I believe he has hit the nail right on the head. As POGO said years ago, "We have met the enemy, and he is us." The Europeans are snickering in their knickers because we have denigrated them and their socialistic ways for so long, and now we are stumbling after them in full follow of Greece, Spain, Italy, England et al. Can rampant inflation, street riots, job losses, and depression be far behind ?

Heh - yeah, as if Germany doesn't have its own problems with corporations running things, roight.... I agree about the barbarians comment entirely tho...

It slays me when the "entitlements" and "handouts" are thrown out as excuses for US financial difficulties. These things are a mere pittance compared to the military budget plus HUGE federal subsidies going to corporations from oil and coal to "green energy" to insane ag subsidies for "farmers" like Cargill and Monsanto - your tax dollars at work, making the rich ever richer.

And when I hear <people> complaining about all them damn entitlements given away by them spendin' spree democrats (as if the friggin' impotent dems really had control over anything), one of my first thoughts is always, "...and you're probably a lousy tipper as well..."
