Such wonderful subjects. And, as usual, wonderfully done.
Thank you Lee. The drone gives a different perspective.

Super shots jmt455, nice detail in the downloads.
Steve, Thanks for your post. Your drone work and edits are very impressive. Which drone did you use and your recommendation on the software to process your images? Best to you and yours.

Thanks for your nice comment! The drone is DJI Mavic 2 Pro ( vintage 2018 ) with the 20MP sensor. The tonal range on this sensor is not really that good so almost all my drone images are five shot HDR’s. I use mostly Photoshop on these and merge them in Adobe Camera Raw then treat them as one would and single image ( albeit that this merged image will have a full tonal range ). Most of my processing is through many layers where I usually will just look for distractions and correct those one at a time using masks and blending with low opacity brushes. I’m pretty much of a nut on detail and resolution. Unfortunately, the images produced by the drone are a little soft so I have added another step to my workflow where I use parts of the Topaz Ai suite ( gigapixel and denoise ). Gigapixel will allow for substantial upscaling ( up to 32,000 pixels on the long side ). By upscaling, then returning to the original out of camera size, an exponential increase in resolution occurs. If you look at the downloadable versions I posted and open them you can see the high resolution. The original OOC resizing will be a significant upgrade from the one posted. There is no sharpening in any of the images i posted.
I usually load them at 3000 pixels on the long side. If you have any questions on a more thorough explanation , just message me.
I probably spend more time than I should processing, but find that part a good exercise in creativity.
Steve,
Really appreciate your immediate and helpful response to my inquiry. This may be the year that I venture into the world of a drone. Some of the places that I have had access to in the past, now have roads that look like something from a military operation. The drone would allow me to recon some of the ranch land to determine if long hikes with proper photo gear would be justified. In the meantime, I could try some low level fights to try and capture some "keeper" photos of some wildflowers. A recognized variable in that part of the state is high winds. I have copied the info you sent and have it in one of my Word files. Ken

If you have money to burn, check the Mavic 3
A friend has it and it is a remarkable upgrade from mine. Probably order it when my wife isn’t looking.
