Lucy was a wonderful Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog that we adopted. We trained her to go to nursing homes, hospices and she became certified through CGC and TDI. When she was getting tired and was 15 years old we gathered around and put her to sleep. She wouldn’t eat her regular food and we fed herBlue berry Special K cereal. We realized everything was on her terms and made her comfortable.

Thanks for being this thread back. I cried the first time. Now I cried again.

My wife and I have been in that situation 7 times during our 32 years of marriage. It is never easy. We are now on our 8th which we got from rescue.
