These are photos of the 2 remaining cheetahs of the coalition of 5 male cheetahs. The 3 others were all killed in the past 12 or so months.

When you view these photos you can't help but feel the love they have for each other. They had one half hearted chase that did not result in a kill. They took a nap and we went for lunch not too far away under a tree. We did manage to miss them finding something for lunch. What ever it was it was small as it was gone when we returned to see if they up. Obviously they tricked us into thinking they were going to nap for a while....otherwise we would not have left.... can't win them all!

The running photos are far from good as they were fairly far away and it was late morning. But, I'm sharing as they are my only running cheetah photos! I do have more that will come soon!

Thanks for posting this beautiful set.
Did your guides have any idea about who may have killed the other three e.g.
lions hyenas, other male cheetahs? Also which reserve are they in?
I have attached a link to "cheetah.org" which provides some interesting facts on the life cycle of cheetahs in the wild.

Hello Photolady (Beth??)

Again I hope you don't mind, but I worked on a couple of your pictures once more. You wrote that you didn't like your running cheetah photos, but I thought they were quite good and only lacked a little more emphasis. So here they are

Thanks for the link. I will look at it. I think they turned on one, maybe 2 for some reason. It is unusual for 5 males to be together like they were and perhaps a dominance thingโ€ฆ. I donโ€™t know about the 3rd for sure.

Did you do anything to the cat or background or just the crop? Thanks!
Beth
