If one drops TV, how much does internet go up?
Many providers discount each individual service for getting a combo "package".

When I started with them for all three services about 7 years ago it was $137. Now it's up to $280 with no increase in service except maybe faster internet.

Yes, if you want to drop one of the three services the price of the other two goes up, so you don't save much.

I think you’ll like UTube TV. You need internet anyway, so YouTube TV (which also provides local channels) plus maybe one or two premiums such as Hulu, NetFlix, or HBO Max is still a lot cheaper than cable with more content.

I like the DVR feature of UTube TV. I have a smart TV, so I can still get other channels. I think Netflix might be the next one to go. I spend more time looking for something to watch than actually watching. More than half of their movies are self-made.

I'll be busy this morning, so I hope to call Spectrum this afternoon. YouTube will cost me $72/mo, so I'm hoping that dropping Spectrum saves me more than that.

With Comcast it goes up quite a bit, to the point that there is little gained in overall cost

Figures.
At that point the disdain for the company would be outweighing the cost difference.

I clicked to sign up, and it was giving me two days for free. I left that and went to the page that offered seven days free. I'd like to try it before paying. If you recommend me so we both save, I wonder if I would get the free trial.

Can I use a Tivo with YouTube TV? I know YT offers unlimited recording, but I do have the Tivo. Can you set YouTube to record a show every time it's on?

My cable bill from Spectrum jumped $26.00 this month. I can't see where I'm doing anything different and I sure
don't see better service. I sent the bill back with a note that I would be looking around for a better deal. Pricing
has gotten way out of hand.

I got a paper bill from Spectrum, which is odd. The bill has risen to over $203. I'm calling tomorrow to cancel the TV portion. I'm going to try YouTube TV. I wonder how long it will take me to cancel tomorrow. If they're anything like XM Radio, I'll have to make lunch. : )

They keep raising and raising the price, with no increase in service.

Jerry, everything is negotiable. If you are really prepared to cancel, tell them you will pay a lower amount. or nothing.

Name one thing that is not increasing in price without any increase in benefit.

As prices increase, I make adjustments - like dropping Spectrum TV.

I discussed this with a neighbor, and he called, complained, and got a $25 reduction. I've done that in the past, and the person on the phone said to call every year and ask for a reduction. I'd rather not. I'll sign up for a week of YouTube TV and see how that goes. Then I'll see how much I'll save by dropping Spectrum TV. The problem is that they're going to throw different options at me to lower the cost.
