Exactly, you'd think they'd just answer the mail from the OP. Must be a slow day in their lives.

As I said…you’re clearly a smart guy and your questions to OP were the right ones…and it seems he either has GAS or just hasn’t fully thought through and articulated what he wants to do so that decent recommendations can be made. But…since you are that smart guy…perhaps a little less condescension and inflammatory statements that you know are only directed at being a troll would be nice. I’m a wiseass too…but moderation is a good thing.

Seriously?!?!? And yet he recommends that the OP hang onto his crop sensor Nikon. You just don"t ge it do?

I get it just fine…for this particular instance and question…his questions and answer were just fine. It’s the hundreds of other times he says crap like that just to troll that help to make this a less pleasant place to be than it could be.

You need to say more. Like why? Like what lenses do you shoot? Like what subjects do you shoot? Like what format JPEG / RAW do you shoot? Like how much do you want to spend? Like why do you have GAS?

The UHH community is mostly populated with a bunch of retirees with more time and money than sense. Keeping up with this bunch of Joneses is a fool's errand. If you let the UHH community spend your money, nothing you have will ever be good enough to their standards.

Digital cameras are plenty good enough now, especially anything released since the resolution standard reached 24MP across the industry. You should be worrying about what you can do with your camera, not whatever newest model anyone else is bragging about. Unless your 24MP DX camera is physically broken, it's more likely than not you have not exhausted all the capabilities and possibilities of this model.

Makes total sense to me. Thanks.

Good golly Miss Moly! I resemble that remark! Could it be he is talking about me? Do I sit and pout? Or do I sit in the corner and cry? Wait, my name is not Jones. Not me? BTW I have never bought a DSLR. The D70s was a Christmas present from my wife and daughter. The D7100 was a Fathers Day gift from my daughter. So I am clean.

Well maybe I will just respond to the OP. If I were you I would stick with the D7200. I am completely comfortable with all the controls and never interrupt the decisive moment to think “How do I adjust that?” I would not like leave DX since my most used lens is the 18 - 200 lens. And, most important, the D7x00 series has an exposure mode that I don’t recall its name, something like easy ISO. In Manual the wheel under your thumb sets the shutter speed and under your forefinger adjusts aperture. But with the ??? ISO on for say aperture mode the shutter speed is set by the camera and thumb wheel (formerly shutter speed) adjust the ISO. You never have to take the camera down from your eye. Cool! (I may have reversed the thumb and forefinger wheels because I am sitting here w/o the camera wiggling my finger. Write that off to being 80 something.)
