Well, the result that I received from my query was this: "Minting an NFT, or non-fungible token, is publishing a unique digital asset on a blockchain so that it can be bought, sold, and traded" That really clarifies things. Now I will have to look up "Blockchain". I guess I am too old fashioned. I'm still pondering why we were so excited about pet rocks and mood rings. They were equally worthless in my opinion so I guess this generation needs it's own questionable things to waste their money on.

My impression of the entire speculative medium called all those names is to move large quantities of money under the radar of the banks--and internationally, also. All the rest is for suckers. Those who use it to move money are in and out before it changes value---the suckers are not. They think it is a speculative medium. They might just as well buy tickets to the lottery. Remember when gambling such as lotteries was illegal and run under cover by the mob----and the sweepstakes in Ireland. Now governments love such gambling as they took over from the mob?------------------ew

So you know really zero about NFT. Thaz acoarst unremarkable, as nothing seems beyond your proud displays of ignorance.

Kalina wishes to embed her artwork in a blockchain. That is all too obviously way above your pay grade, but you run your mouth anywho. Your material has been getting rather stale lately, but muttering about blockchains is possibly your most futile route yet to upgrading it. Oblivion or fresh material, its entirely up to you.

I was under the impression that it offers a secure way of presenting & selling your art/photos so they couldn’t be stolen or I believe the word used might be pirated. Sort of a security stamp embedded in it. I might be wrong. Can’t remember when I first started seeing it promoted from you tubers. Maybe 1 to 1-1/2 years ago. Like anything on the net, who really knows, not me.

They can be stolen, pirated, or any other thing you can do with a digital image. The NFT is a means of authenticating a particular copy.

The whole concept is, of course, both hilarious and dubious.

Mood rings really did work. If she was in a good mood, they'd be green. If she was in a bad mood, they could leave a gig red welt on your temple!

Magnifying your pride in your ignorance is your tiresome worn out routine. Adding all those charming little childish insults doesnt update your act.

Seems youre headed for oblivion. Its your own sad doing. Your only contribution was entertainment, and youre not keeping up with that very well at all.

if you publish a photo online, anybody can copy it, change the metadata (like copyright information) and claim it is theirs.
an NFT couples your photo with a digital certificate that ensures it can neither ce copied nor (its metadata) altered. blockchain technology is used to ensure that the digital certificate itself also cannot be manipulated.

Cryptocurrencies like bitcoin also use blockchain technology as a manipulation-proof digital ledger for who owns how much of said currency, who transferred x amount of it to someone else, ...

While both cryptocurrencies and NFTs use blockchains they are not the same thing and mining a cryptocurrency has nothing to do with minting a NFT

UHH has an attic for political rants and non-PC posts and the like. Maybe we need a basement to store all the useless stuff?

Good idea.
