They are making sure they don't screw things up as badly mas the democrats did with Peelousie. She was the most asinine joke for a speaker the US has ever had the misfortune to have.

Scoot, you are so far off in left field... you might even be a democrat!

McCarthy wants it... BIGLY. But, he is getting v**ed down.
Jim Jordan doesn't want it. But, others are nominating him. He wants to be the head of the judiciary committee so he can control payback.

You point a finger at others but, stupid is as stupid does... you have three other fingers pointing back in your direction.

Pay back time! I sure hope so. They should look into the Biden crime family and Nancy Pelosi’s stock market shenanigans. They should be able to. The Dimms set a precedent by getting Trump’s tax records, so it’s game on.

Republicans can't even elect a speaker for the first time in 100 years. They have had 2 months since the mid-terms and could not come up with a plan. Pitiful!

True, but they managed to get them in the end. Hopefully Biden and Pelosi will have to pony up theirs too.

Wrong again. The disgrace is Trump. I have not heard it said yet, but there is no doubt in my mind that Trump ordered the IRS to not audit his taxes. With the precedent of presidents releasing their taxes, the law requiring audits of presidents’ taxes, and Trump’s repeated statements that he would happily release his taxes there can only be one reason for it not being done… Trump!

Oh come on. are you that dumb.

Trump's tax returns showed that he paid his taxes to China, just not to our country. Apparently, his supporters are perfectly OK with that.

Legally, no. Operationally... absolutely.

Their excuses would be complexity, lack of manpower, etc. None of which would make sense given the attention being given to this matter.

I doubt the IRS would bow to Trump telling them no to release his taxes. The IRS along with FBI and DOJ are left leaning as proven when Trump first said he was running. You can't argue with that after Comey and the rest of the corrupt FBI went after him and lied to get the tap.

If a person does business in another country he or she is liable for any taxes that are legally levied. No doubt Biden pays more taxes to China than here at home. For instance Shakira and Spain.

Trump's company was found guilty on 17 of 17 counts of c***ting on taxes. No problem for you. Do you really believe that he would c***t on his company's taxes but not on his personal taxes?

the verb is "audit", not release".

I do not know what Trump idid or did not order. But it is a fact that the standard practice of auditing all P**********l and Vice P**********l tax returns was not followed by a Rump appointed IRS Commissioner. Connect the dots as you will.

And... connecting the dots is Scoot's favorite game!

Are you that naive?

Put one of your loyalists into any key position and you are then able to call the shots.

He did just that.

How is "Payback" working for you guys?

Seems the GOP is imploding on a daily basis.

20 whacked-out holdouts accomplished something that hasn't been done in 100 years. Must make you guys proud.
Must make you proud also that your party can't even nominate a strong person as the House Speaker.... heck, even his boss threw him under the bus... everyone knew that was going to happen.

Got another disgraceful distraction brewing with this Santos guy. Heck, he even tweeted on Tuesday that he had been sworn in! I guess he is keeping up with the republican tradition - LYING!

Your track record with House Speakers lately, hasn't been very good.

John Boehner... failed miserably.... and actually cried over it.
Paul Ryan... "quit" because it was too tough for him.

Now, you might get Kevin McCarthy. If he gets in, he will be one of the weakest House Speakers of all time. Your house of cards will be one bigly ball of infighting for the next two years or more.

Just wondering how well your "Time for pay back" is working out for ya.

I made a reply to your post about Trump paying taxes in China. Do you not understand that? Now you're changing the subject so to answer your new question. Here's a fact for you. Trump does not do his own taxes. He signs off on them but he doesn't do his own taxes. If he was found guilty of something his tax experts filed then he needs to correct it. Millions of Americans are found to have mistakes in their taxes yearly. A man in Trumps position will take every tax advantage he can get. Don't you?

Wrong. It is not an audit. He is fighting the release of his returns to the public and others who really have no right to see them. I would fight it also wouldn't you? My taxes are my business and the IRS's business not your business. Again he is not fighting an audit just a release.
