I’m pretty much like you…love taking photos to share…want to learn how to get better…no desire to be a pro…etc.. This is a great place to learn. Welcome!

All are welcome . We all learn together. There is no dumb question. I have had a camera for 60 years and I am still learning as well as teaching photography.

Regarding "dumb" questions, I would add that the only dumb question , as the saying goes, is the one you don't ask. Photography can be a complicated subject, and very subjective so you will get differing opinions sometimes but try them out. Learning often is trial and error but you don't learn by doing everything right - we tend to learn by trying different things. Please ask away!.

Hi there
I don't comment much but thought I'd chime in and just say I was in Alberta this past June visited Banff and Jasper area. Beautiful area crowded though. I a ble was to get out and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the lakes and wildlife, came away with beautiful pictures. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what you did to aquire the pictures. You never stop learning and you can do it at any age. Just enjoy the journey!

I've looked at several posts and it looks to me as though I am no where near as good at photgraphy as the rest of you are.

I'll post a few of my photos to see what the rest of you think, do I belong here or not?

Welcome to the Hog.

You don't have anything to worry about. There are people here with 60+ years of experience, and people who signed up to wonder what digital photography was all about! Read, lurk, contribute, any way you see fit.

^^^^^ TRUTH. Read, try, fail, analyze, try again, succeed, read, analyze, succeed better, repeat.
