I carry multiple cameras on a photo trip. One in the footwell on the passengers side. Nowhere to fall, immediately accessible. The other two in the back rolled up in a blanket.

Thank you all for the feedback. There are many ways to have the camera on the ready as you are driving.

I always hear it from other photographers that they put their cameras in a safe spot packed away while driving to, and from, a location. here is a capture from the other day as I was driving home. just pulled the car over to the roadside and framed the shot. This was a ten shot pano. I turned to look over my shoulder, and the moon was rising. So I took another couple of shots. It pays to have the camera ready as much as safely possible. Enjoy.

Nice pano and moon shot. (was the pano hand held?)

Thanks. Yes. I was just returning from a photo shoot of 5 horses. I would have liked to have had a tripod as well, but the moment was there and I took advantage of the time offered.

Only time I ever had to have a camera repaired was one that fell to the floor from the front passenger seat. Still keep it on the seat but now in a padded bag.

I have the problem of not remembering to carry my camera on the front seat. Of course if I did put my camera on the front seat, my wife would have to ride in the back and she may not like that.

I found these on ebay and are very useful. Raise the headrest, hook it on the shaft and go!

Thank you all for the replies. And for those that aren't aware, most cars have seat belts for cameras. That is how mine is used.
