The media likes to chirp about “gun violence”, as if it’s the gun that causes the violence. When that guy recently stabbed and slashed a bunch of strangers in a public place, no mention was made of knife violence. When that idiot plowed his car through the crowd in Charlottesville, no mention was made of car violence. When Tiger Woods ex wife beat him with his own golf club, no mention was made of golf club violence. Notice a pattern in media reporting?

And don’t forget, the 2nd amendment and right to bear arms wasn’t conceived to give Americans a way to protect themselves from other American citizens or even outsiders, but rather to allow us to defend ourselves from OUR own government. If you read a little history, you will find that the most repressive governments in world history that exterminated so many of their own citizens preceded the slaughters with gun control. Nazi Germany, Pol Pot in Cambodia, Stalin in the early years of the USSR and I could go on.

Our founding fathers knew that other people weren’t the real enemy but rather that our own government could be subverted and could become our enemy.

I am not surprised at all. Cheers

How many times have you been shot by those tens of thousands of gun toting maniacs?

It's been a Problem for maybe the last 10 years, or more these Brazen Thugs are hitting Camera Stores & Jacking Photographers for their Hi-End Cameras, because South American Countries can't get what they want in their Countries, so they go Outside the Country to get Hi-End Cameras & Hire Brazen Thugs to Steal them.

Here in Southern California... Thieves have Busted in Several Camera Stores Like Silvo's & Samy's to Snatch Professional Nikons & Canon Body & Lenses so they can End up in South America on the Black Market.

I ask myself what the Hell do these South American Countries want with these Hi-End Nikon's & Canon's & other Pro Cameras?

Not sure if your comment and mine here will violate the politics ban here in UHH. I now live in Texas, near Dallas, but I have lived all over the USA from west to east, California to New York.

As a news photojournalist for over four decades I have seen too many criminal acts and covered too many sad stories and sad funerals of innocent civilians, adults and kids killed in accidental crossfires, mass shootings, or just private gun accidents.

What this world does not need is more civilians shooting it out on the streets with criminals, that should be left to licensed and trained professional law enforcement. Protecting from intruders inside your home is one thing, but many of these robberies are taking place outdoors where innocent civilians are at risk from any gunfire. FYI, I have worked with the Police on many undercover stings and operations as a photojournalist over the decades, and I have a few decorated career law enforcement officers in my extended family.

The fact that almost everyone in Texas carries a gun and can carry them almost anywhere makes my feel far less safe than I did living and traveling in most other states and countries, and I have faced live gunfire on the streets of the USA and in foreign war conflicts doing my job as a photojournalist. That is a risk I signed up for as a photojournalist, but civilians shouldn't be victims, innocent , accidentally or on purpose from carriers of the estimated nearly 350 million guns in private hands in our country. Just check the news any week in the USA, sadly.

More guns in civilian hands carried on the open streets is NOT the answer to these robberies. IMHO.

Cheers and best to you.

Your post violates the idea of image litter and hijacking a thread topic. What does a bunch of Sony pictures have to do with a Leica store robbery? Anything? Bueller? Anyone lording over their own private FB group would / should know the nonsense of this poor online behavior, so many times unnecessary repeated here at UHH.
