A seller will usually make more money selling it directly to another individual. Any reseller has to be competitive when selling their product. No matter what the item for sale. So they are offering a wholesale price. The good thing is you didn't have to take the offer. Which you didn't. You sold them to other Hoggers. You made more money, and they saved some money buying from you and not a reseller company. Sounds like a win win for everyone.

For anyone else looking for relatively inexpensive Nikon lenses any camera store that sells used gear currently has a glut of Nikon lenses. It seems that a lot of the people going mirrorless are purchasing their Z lenses and letting go of their older glass.

Pro Photo Supply in Portland Oregon had at least 50 used Nikon Lenses a week ago and Camera Solutions, also in Portland, probably had 30 or more. B&H and Adorama also have a bunch of used Nikons. So, if you need Nikon gear now is the time to look.

But you missed my point totally. They kept the cable. and gave me a B S reason for their paltry offer. And when I asked them how my items were cosmetically bad. they had NOTHING to say. Why? because there WAS not a mark on anything!!!! What I did learn was not to trust those morons and sell it myself. But that doesn't take them off the hook. Of course you're happy. you benefitted from their business practices.

I got it I understand you were totally disgusted with the whole process. Your experience left a bad taste in your mouth, and you are never going to try and use them again. You had a very bad experience, I did not. So, no I did not miss you point.
