I think it's good. You just need good monitor/monitors. You can add more RAM later and a larger SSD.

Hello
More than enough, I would consider the Windows 11 Pro, otherwise, the system will do more than what you need.

Ask if you can upgrade the SSD storage to one TB. Other than that it's wonderful. I'm going to assume lol that the 256gb SSD is the drive all your system and programs will live on. I upgraded mine myself

. In the meantime the graphics are plenty powerful and won't need upgrading.

All fine, but you could use a larger SSD (at least 512 GB) and 32GB DRAM - see if those are available as options

256 will get small. Make sure the HP can be updated. Many machines can not and or do not have the room. Also make sure you have enough unused slots on the mother board. I find it easy to run short of usb places.

My custom built pc is over kill for most people. I have a 1 terabyte drive for programs and the stuff I created using office, 2 CADD programs, 2 Photo editing programs and other stuff. The CADD drawings can get huge. I have a 2 T TB for photo storage. I shoot the D850 and D500. although silly I usually shoot jpg and raw. I do not do a good job of getting rid of not good photos and for a while my daughter was making copies of photos and placing them in a new folder. I am still trying to find the duplicates.

I have 64 GB of ram, MVIVIA GeForce video card with 2 monitors and a i7 -9700 CPU for the 3 D CADD program. The complicated 3D models are memory hog.
I have never tested the machine for gaming but so far I have never caused it to slow down

If the ram isn't integrated into the motherboard!!!

Windows pro? What the heck? The differences do not justify paying for more when used as a stand alone.

It is a basic computer that will do normal post-processing, so fine.

Upgrading down the line might not be a cost-effective way.

The only thing I would question is the use of an older CPU (gen7) when the new generation is Gen12.

SSD size 256gb is fine, no need to upgrade unless you plan to use the PC as a gamer station.

I thought about commenting on that also. Actually, it’s 11th (I7 11700) generation, and the newest 13th Gen Intel CPUs such as the I7 13700 have just been announced. The 11700 is 8 cores, while the 12700 is 12 and the 13700 is 16. Here’s the format of Intel’s configurator. If you’re looking for max performance, look for an Intel CPU with a “K” suffix (unlocked for overclocking). The “F” suffix deletes onboard graphics and requires a separate graphics card.

You'd be better off with a less powerful graphics card and 32 gigs of RAM. You don't need a 3060 for doing image processing. And I would go for a bigger SSD for faster read/write

Generally for image processing you don't need powerful graphics card but I think the trend now for software to make use of the GPU for other things as well. I see that PS now requires something like 4GB of GPU minimum.

More RAM to 32GB, 512TB SSD. Personally I'd still want Windows 10. If it were a Dell and not HP I would be drooling. The price - is it a Referb,
