Thanks so much, Bob! I do have my eye on one of the mill images for a canvas print.

Mills are my favorite photo ops

I agree, Susan, so long as there is lots of water to include!

That is some awesome subject matter!!!

Isn't it, though? There were so many vantage points to shoot from! It's worth a do-over.

Great photos from this trip, Diane (as always)! Your timing for good color seems to have been right on.

The timing that almost wasn't! I started out with reservations for the 3rd week in October, but a local photog from FB suggested it might be better to go the 4th week--so I rebooked our reservations. When I could see that fall was coming early here in WNC, I called the lodgings back and had them put me back to the 3rd week. Even then, we ran out of time at the end of the trip when winds moved in and dropped the leaves. So glad that we were in the right place at the right time! Glad you enjoyed the set, Kim!

Beautiful pictures. I lived in Lewisburg for 8+ years and was not into photography at the time, so no pictures. Check out "Bridge Day". One lane of traffic becomes people walking only, sky divers by the dozens leap from a special platform (one at a time), a ZIP line is established going from just under the bridge to the river bed below, all offering abundant photo opportunities.

Oh, I know about Bridge Day--enough to not plan on trying to do photography on that same weekend, lol!! Glad you enjoyed the set, Floyd!

Beautiful Shots! I'd love to go there!

Thank you, Dennis! It's worth a trip if you love Americana. We only touched the tip of the ice burg. There are treasures throughout the state--covered bridges, mills, old barns, etc.

Looks like you are really enjoying your tour through WV. I have a son that got relocated on his job and moved there 8 yrs ago. I enjoy visiting there immensely. He lives between Beckley and Louisburg. Have been to Glades Mill numerous times and have some great images of it also. Keep on enjoying your time there and keep posting your images.

Is your son in Fayette or Summers county? There's some beautiful slices of history throughout that region. It's hard to take a bad photo of Glade Creek and I'm so glad I finally got there.
