Could it also be cyclical climate change as has happened throughout the history of the planet?

It's the wellspring of most of our problems...

It will be corrected...one way or the other.

It will, but I'm concerned with the erroneous "corrections".

In the Wall Street Journal's 11/16 edition was a article that the UN announced the World Population has reached 8 Billion people. In 1927 the population was only 2 Billion and in 1950 had grown to 2.536 billion.

Do you think this has caused Climate Change? More demand for material things, Houses, Car, Fuel for cars and Heat.

It seem that everyone wants to blame our climate woo's on energy companies, oil companies, but overlook the basic cause.

Itโ€™s well understood that the increase in population is the primary cause of our ecological problems. Trying to stop people from having babies doesnโ€™t work, so we are trying to treat the symptoms of population and especially population growth. We havenโ€™t been very successful, obviously.

The more people the Earth has to support the more we consume in resources, including fossil fuels which are the main culprit in the climate change we are experiencing.

I think of it like this:

The average person poops twice a day and for sake of estimates, let's assume it totals a pound a day.

8 million people = 8 million pounds of poop a day x 365 days per year = 2,920,000,000 pounds of poop...just from people. Add to that all of the animals, including the 10 quintillion insects on earth, and you will soon come to realize that we are living in a $hitty world.๐Ÿ˜œ

For a farmer, poop has value.

Many, many years ago I was at a meeting where Jacques Cousteau said that the earth could maintain it's natural equalibrium with a population of 5 billion people. After that we will deplete our natural resources faster that they can recuperate. Scary!

Statistically speaking, more people freeze to death than die of high heat each year. So maybe global warming is leading to population increase?

/sarcasm off/
