https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-757962-1.htmlTheShoe your computer is almost a duplicate of mine. To clear the loading problem, close out multi programs and reboot and try again. I had the same problem loading PSE-2023
The problem is not with loading Topaz, it is with Topaz loading an image file. I have the same problem when Topaz is running by itself. This is not a space problem. The monitor shows 6GB out of 32GB in use, CPU at 2%, disk I/O at 0. All resources are at idle during my attempts. The problem is that the graphs do not change when an image is copied to the Topaz area or an image is opened during Image Browse.

Are you using it as a standalone or as a filter in a raw operator like Photosghop .? i use it both ways never had a problem . I mainly use it in the current version of Photoshop . The filters are in the filter drawer of photoshop top row of Photoshop ,both Sharpen AI and Denoise AI . Gigapixel is in a different location in File drop down , Automate , Gigapixel . Also in your preferences Under Performance make sure you have checked the [Use Graphics processor] then click on Advanced settings make sure all boxes are checked ,Use open CL ..Not sure what Raw operator orv editing engine you are using .

Standalone, I am not a user of PS.

I am a fan of Topaz. Each program has it quirks however. With experience you will quickly be able to work these programs to produce what is needed.
When I downloaded, and please forgive the lapse in memory, either the Sharpen or the DeNoise, I experienced a major slow down much as you described when working with an image- seemed to take forever until I noticed that there was another menu (drop down?) or off to the side that asked to download all of the options used for the program to work. A menu of sorts within the program's available tools within which to process.
Once that was done, the menu of programmed alternates on hand, the work of processing proceeded quickly.
Just a thought and hope this helps.
As for the problem if it is downloading the new source program to computer, my issue was the download capabilities of my service provider I found out. Again, hope this helps. If you can work out the bugs these programs work wonders where needed.

Topaz is not loading images. The program is loading without any indication of errors. I have not gotten to the point of Topaz doing anything.

Try drag and drop... and/or copy and paste

Been there, done those. I have tried every available way that I can think of to get Topaz to open a file. I have even right-clicked a file and chosen Topaz as the program to open it. It is very consistent.
An answer found. Out of desperation, I opened Topaz as an Administrator and it worked. Now that I know a way, one which I dislike, I will not be using Topaz until it can be opened as a proper application. There is no reason an application like Topaz should ever need Admin privileges.
I have had my moments with Topaz - but, I have found when it works it works really well - I particularly like the new AI - it can’t hurt to email them - which your app lets you to do
Sorry you have had issues. I have found Topaz to be big on selling and little on customer support.
I have a love/hate thing going on with Topaz. There are times when the results keep you interested and trying it but it is by no means consistent. Then when it seems that everything is working right they do an update that screws things up and it takes forever to process a picture.
I have a Zoom meeting set with them on Tuesday the 22nd for them to take control of my computer to delete and reload programs. I find I have the biggest issue with Sharpening AI but none seem flawless.
The problems are enough that I seldom use the software but I will say I'm encouraged by Photo Ai.

Is your regular Windows login setup to be an administrator? It’s curious that others do not seem to be having a similar problem, so there appears to be something atypical about your Windows installation.

I have been engaged with them for days before I started this thread. So far, the method that I have found for getting it to work is totally unacceptable as I will not run just any old program as an administrator..

They want me to schedule a Zoom session. The only problem with that is that I have neither a web cam, microphone, nor Zoom, on this desdktop.

Yes, it is; however, I have configured it to ask for permission before initiating an administrator function.

My normal account is an administrator's account and I have no problems. But then I have 4 different security apps, each of which does something different, and Spectrum Cable also has online filters. In fact, their security filters sometimes get a little too strict, and I have to do an extra step to open a site. Once they even labeled National Geographic as an at risk site.
The extra step to open something only takes a couple of seconds. I can use that much time stopping to take a sip of coffee or iced tea.
My Topaz apps are all running as plugins to Light Room Classic or Photo Shop. If I remember right that is what they were designed for, the running as a stand alone is sort of an afterthought in response to user requests.

There are other ways for them to take over your computer to fix the issue. You communicate via chat. Several years ago before I even heard of Zoom I had an Adobe tech rep spend almost two hours working with me on the problem of running the Subscription App on my desktop and LR 6 on an old laptop for when I was away from home. Updates kept changing the LR 6 to the Subscription, and that old laptop then ran about as fast as molasses in Jan. It seems their main frame hadn't been set up for people to have two different versions of Light Room on one account, so the tech split the LR6 off as a separate account using another one of my e-mails. Problem solved, I could even send stuff between the laptop and desktop via hard-wire or my home WiFi network.
I still have that old laptop, but I also have a new gaming laptop that has no problem whatsoever with the Subscription version. That gamer can run 3D in real time, so it has no problem with photo editing and when I bought it, it was on sale for $200 less than the Graphic Arts/Photo version of the same laptop. Maybe one day I will even try gaming, but not likely. The newest game I own is a 5-6 year old flight simulator program of WW II fighters and an even older Star Wars flight simulator type game. I haven't played either in over 5 years.
