Yes, at 81 I finally decided to get one because, although I can stand and walk, it is very painful. I have 17 titanium pins and screws in my feet trying to hold my feet together. Somehow, four of the pins and screws in each foot have broken and the feet have collapsed again. Since each subsequent operation to "correct" the problems require approximately 9 months of recovery, I just don't feel that at my age, I have essentially two years to devote to recovery with no assurances that the operations will be successful. I purchased a mobility scooter this year and it has proven very handy. It is a Golden Mobility scooter [https://www.google.com/search?q=golden+mobility+scooter&oq=Golden+mobility+scooter&aqs=chrome.0.0i512l2j46i175i199i512j0i512l7.7247j1j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8]. Mine is one with the controls on the toggle stick which I prefer. It breaks down into four parts for storing in the trunk or car. Each piece supposedly weighs no more than 35 or so pounds, so it is manageable. I do not have an attachment on my car to lift or carry it but that would be even more handy. It cost approximately $2,000. It is very handy in the right situations. Check carefully with the limitations before you buy. Mine works well on sidewalks, relatively smooth ground and in the suburban streets. However, you really need the "handicap" ramps to get on and off the sidewalk or you end up having to try to lift it up or down over curbs. It is not especially comfortable on side slopes. It has protection from falling over backwards but not for sideways. The battery is reputably good for about 15 miles fully charged. I think I have used for for at least 5 miles a couple of times. I am happy with mine and it is especially handy for events like car shows, state fairs and trips around parks with decent walkways or paths. It does not work well on soft ground or on leaf covered surfaces as the wheels tend to spin on the loose leaves. So, while it has drawbacks, I am happy that I purchased it. More importantly, so is my wife.

You might try using ‘quote reply’ instead of just ‘reply’ so we know to whom you are replying.
Also, why are you replying “Thanks for the feedback” when you aren’t the original poster?
Just curious 😗

I want to thank everyone that took the time to read and comment on this. I still haven't made the decision on which one to buy but, my fellow Hog's, are helping with my decision. You can do a google search, which I did, and turn up a ton of information but here I was able to get some reviews from actual user's. Thank you!!

I was in almost the exact same situation. I used a scooter at the local County Fair and found it to be a great way to get around. We went to a local medical supply store and looked at the available scooters. We bought one and have been very happy with it. It gets quite a lot of use on one battery charge and is able to be broken down into four parts each one weighing less than 35 pounds. It fits in the back of the car. However, we found it a little awkward to break down after a while mostly because we are aging (already aged, actually.) We then purchased a carbon fiber scooter that weighs a total of about 40 pounds with the battery in and folds conveniently. The domestic airlines are required to put it on board for no additional fee. We have used it several times to take on vacation. I drive it up to the airplane and fold it up and they stow it below in the belly and return it when we land. Very convenient. So now I have two. The larger, heavier one we use around the neighborhood mostly and use the fold-up one for travel. There are many available. Both scooters run about $2,500 each. If you can afford it, I think it is worth the price.
