Nicely composed. Good use of the tree framing. I could see people hanging out they by the shore. Or even a fisherman or two.

Thank you Frank. I didn't see much evidence of fishing in the loch, but sometimes people don't need that excuse to go out onto the water. In fact there were a couple of houses on the far side of the loch which didn't have any other form of access (as far as I could see).

Whenever there's a large body of water you never have to look far to find boats. Nice background scenery is always an added bonus.

I watch a lot of Youtube photographers. Most of them seem to be from the UK. I'd love to get over there for these kinds of shots one of these days. The midges do worry me a bit, though. Nice photo.

Thanks. The midges worry most people but as far as I know they have never caused any fatalities . They were already almost non-existent when I took this photo (late September).

Going by your own shots you already know that a main part of the challenge isn't finding scenery so much as finding the special compositions. The same challenge exists here. I'm sure you have no shortage of scenery where you live.

You are, of course, right. There is plenty of photogenic scenery here (or almost anywhere, really); but I still want to wander around Scotland with a camera one of these days.

Tiny little biting bugs that can be quite a nuisance. They swarm together and make hiking a bit difficult I'm told. R.G. can probably give you a better description. I'm sure he has had encounters with the buggers.

I see you've got the vocabulary about right lol. They're difficult to see and they attack in large numbers. Resistance is futile - but the right repellent can work wonders. They're bad only at specific times of the year and only when there's no wind to keep them grounded. Hiking isn't usually a problem. It's when you stand still for more than a minute that they start to show an interest in you.
