The Farmington Bay Wildfowl Management Area will open for duck hunting October 1. I went to check out things and found the gate to the main area locked. The photos that I am posting show the population in the outer areas.

Although shooting into the sun is tricky, when I could get the subjects in the new sun the results were much better.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Excellent set Mike.

Very nice set, Mike. IMHO, the second and third raptor shots are the best of the batch, but I am prejudiced because I don't get a lot of raptor opportunities. The second image of the hawk looking directly at you is noteworthy; sharp and uncluttered. I am not great at raptor ID but think this might be a juvenile Swainson's Hawk. Perhaps some of the raptor experts will chime in.
