Insanity prevails... while my Panasonic self contained does does wonders as IR, i see a E-PL3 +M.Zuiko 40-150mm for $140 US. RG please buy it quickly so it will be gone when I decide mid week.

I had best wait til the passion subsides and reality sets in... how many different cameras do I need...

Deep breaths - it'll pass .

Thank you Don. I'm pleased so far. The camera and lens were both second-hand.

The Olympus Pen E-P7 has become my new "compact" camera. It has a 12-32mm lens and when fitted to the camera the two together can fit inside my fleece pocket. I took it for a trial run today round some old haunts. The controls are a bit different from what I'm used to but image-wise I'm pleased so far. The real test will come when I shoot in low light conditions, but I know not to expect too much from a pocketable camera.

That lens is really sharp and has impressive DOF. I can see where this is going to become one of your favorites for going on your walks. Good luck with the new purchase.

Thanks. The usual "kit" lens is the 14-42mm but the 12-32mm is smaller and I prefer having more at the wide end so that's the one I bought.

Just a thought - these are all sunny shots but I'm hoping that the IBIS will give me an extra two or more stops of exposure time when shooting handheld in lower light conditions. If it can do that it'll more than make up for the smaller sensor. I can see myself becoming an IBIS fanboy.
