Saw a post just yesterday that an upcoming movie about Queen Elizabeth II, will use a black woman representing the queen? Her pic was on Facebook but I wouldn't be able to find it. Why is this and makes no sense ?? Affects the credibility of the entire movie.

Pretty soon, the only argument will be what ethnic group is making the computers.

I think if you were to compare concentration camps in Europe during the war and after in Russia you would then know what "c-o-n-c-e-n-t-r-a-t-i-o-n" camps really were.

Iām somewhat surprised that Disney reissues a movie that will only appeal to 13% of the USA population

Jesus Christ has been almost always portrayed - movies, statues etc - as Caucasian, complete with blond hair a blue eyes. Given where He was from He would have had olive/brown skin, along with curly dark hair and most likely dark brown eyes - and considerable offence has been taken in some areas when He is portrayed more realistically.
I used to listen to a station that played a wide variety music genres on the weekends, 90.1 KPFT in Houston. One of the shows did an Americana theme (great music not usually heard on mainstream). One memorable song had the line "what if Jesus were a Mexican".
Personally don't care what skin He was wrapped in. Just like many of my friends from around the world.
His message and position in history is what was -is still- important/ necessary. Particularly in this time of our collective human race evolution.
Some people have a great need for perspective advancement.

Well, there's your problem.

I argued with my son about Hollywood not needing actors anymore in my lifetime. He is quite well known in the circle of Hollywood. He argued that would never happen. Now 10 years later ge is finally coming around to my point of view. Employees are the biggest issue in business. So if the Hollywood businesses can eliminate a great hassle and money pit I'm betting they will

Then there's cultural appropriation. A kid can't wear an Indian costume any more - it's disrespectful, even if the child wears it to honor a particular individual. So is it cultural appropriation for a Black person to bleach his or her hair?

And just what 13% of the population is that? I believe there are more than 13% of the population tht will enjoy the new release. Disney appeals to a huge number of people.

Movies...plays...all follow the Greek methodology of a storyline arc.
So basically, they are all the same in their structure.
The most important part for me is the script...not the acting.
If you have a great script with average actors...you will be entertained...engaged.
If you have a bad script with GREAT actors...I will switch the channel.
A script can save movie/play.
An actor cannot save a bad script.
Since the arc is always the same...I can tell in 10 minutes if a movie is worth my time.
I don't care who is in it.

I'm kinda along the same line.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" has good actors, lousy scripts.
There also used to be a large percentage of "colored" cowboys.
Until the Civil War. And after. Hardly any in the movies- except for a "Hattie".
For a while nowmovies have been a short story with lots of CGI scenes.
What used to be called "filler".
With better AI, we'll have @ 7 stories, replaceable faces and music- and nobody will know.

And talk about discrimination - a few years ago I was Resident Manager of a large board and care facility in Gardena, California. (I quit when the owner's promised very substantial raise did not occur. --- I even had to bypass asking for her approval for major facility maintenance activity, or force her hand by quietly calling for city inspections.) Among the people working there, we had 4 black women, all having the same kind of duty. Quite obviously, the three lighter blacks discriminated against the one who was a shade darker, though all performed equally well in their jobs!!! But they would not even let her sit with them at lunch in the dining room.

Man, I hate that "cultural appropriation" complaint. Without that, we wouldn't have rock and roll. It would still be considered Black music. I thought imitation was a form of flattery, not a form of theft.
Our local school district dumped its "Indian" mascot/symbolism, etc. It was complaints from outsiders that got the ball rolling. The teams went from Indians to Eagles. I guess animals are the only safe mascots now - until PETA complains.
