The sad news of the Queen's death came this afternoon.

I have many images, in my files, of the Queen havig covered many Royal visits and otere such occasions. This is my favourite image of her because of the warm way she always related to children.

It won't be the same under Charles. Many people over there and elsewhere feel no affection toward him, and the way he treated Diana will never be forgotten. I've never really understood the monarchy, but I have to say that this is a very sad day indeed. To quote my wife, "The last vestige of civility just died."

It is truly sad to lose a person whose graciousness was displayed in so many ways.

I agree with both you and your wife. Charles should abdicate to William and just stay in the background; unfortunately, he is too narcissistic to do the right thing.

Rest in peace, dear Elizabeth, you will be missed more than you could know.

So sad to hear of the passing of the great Queen Elizabeth of the Commonwealth Realms, a true legend that will go down in history as perhaps the United Kingdom's greatest ruler ever, certainly its most beloved throughout the British Commonwealth around the world. Here is a shot I made of then Prince Charles (now King Charles) and wife Camilla. I had to wear a tux to be this close to them. All the best to the new King Charles. Canon EOS 1DX, 24-70mm lens, ISO 400, f5.6, 1/250 sec. with on-camera flash .

Really got used to GB having a Queen -
Remember watching B&W TV when they made her Queen during the early 50s.
Sorry, she is gone -
Hope the old/new guy King Charles-3rd fully understands what happened to Charles-1st.

Your image did not post I'd love to see it.

That shot of the Queen was made in the days before security was super, ultra tight and all the press photographers were not, as of lately, sectioned off and confined in a cage-like structure or kept behind barricades and everyone is forced to use long lenses. I too had to wear a dress suit, white shirt and necktie to be in that press pool. I was about 6' feet from the Queen- direct flash- 50mm wide-angle lens on Hasselblad. In those days most of the British (tabloid) press guys were anything but well-dressed- seems "gunge" was the in-style. Weh was interviewed by the British and Canadian security folks, the Brits asked us if we were really press photographers seeing we showed up in suits!

Somewhere in my files, I have Charles and Dianna- they came to Canada and stopped in Ottawa to attend the ribbon cutting of a new, at the time, police headquarters. I hope folk will give King Charles a chance and not prejudge him because of his prior mistakes. Hopefully, he is older and wiser and was taught many lessons by his mom!

I was a little kid when I watched, on TV, King George's funeral and later on the Coronation Of Queen Elizabeth.
