Why do folks Comment or Review about cameras they Don’t own?

You will find that a lot of the responses to questions asked start out with a line that allows you to jump to the next response. They are; I don't own that one but...
I've never tried that but...
I've never used that but...

Especially liking Bill45s recommendation: Just put a roll of film through it (referring acoarst to modern cameras).
