From my usual place, Kingsbury State Fish and Wildlife area, Kingsbury, IN. Two miles of utility poles, and normally turkey vultures, Cooper's Hawks, and Red-Tailed Hawks perch on top early in the morning as the sun rises. I don't see too many others, but I am happy with the ones that visit. I think Number Four was way off course. The property manager told me to look for an unusual looking bird that was in the area for about a week, and it was eating snails. Can anyone identify FOUR for me, please?

a beautiful set, joe...you really hit the jackpot when you discovered your fun place.
love that big closeup of the hawk, and your mystery bird might be a little green heron.
but i'm not sure. the last shot is really cool.

#4 sure looks like the American bittern, but the yellow in front of it's eye looks more like the green heron.

Good looking group of photos.

Fabulous set, Joe. Great detail in the downloads. Love that the green heron looks like a spider included her in his web.

I was about fifty feet away and didn't see the webbing until I cropped. The bird was freely moving around, and I think that's how it was picked up. Thank you for your nice comment, Joe

Quite the collection, Joe, a nice place for a camera outing!!

Dozens of ten-foot wide grass paths maintained for the hunters, but I am loath to go walking by myself back into those nether lands. Thanks for commenting, JE
