Water Towers in NYC with the Nikon z50 and 18-140mm lens.

For me, the water towers (there are between 15,000 and 17,000 of them!) in NYC are iconic.
Since childhood, when we would go to NYC to see my grandparents, I would notice them. This week, I got to shoot some images from a boat and from hotel windows. I chose to process them as B&W and shot them in the midday sun. Here are a few. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

No way to beat gravity. Lol. Pumps and tanks to get around it.

Great subject. Might be fun to shoot them in different lighting as well.

Interesting set!!!
I saw a documentary on the NYC water towers a few years ago, they were the only way to maintain water pressure on the upper floors.

I've seen them many times, and never given them much thought. Necessary, obviously, to maintain pressure on the upper floors. I could've used a similar idea years ago to solve a well sharing problem with an uphill neighbor, but didn't think of it.

Good work Lynda. These would be well received in the new B&W section of the forum.

Great set and theme!! I too, would be interested in seeing more like these, in color? Early a.m., late p.m. just a couple thoughts but not criticizing these B&W shots even a little. I applaud the creative idea and what's better, IMHO, is your back story as to why you shot all these towers!! Love it!

The color images are much busier, I think…here is one that was okay. Would love to have an opportunity to shoot at different times of day, but it is a 3 hour drive from Saratoga County to NYC…maybe one day! Thanks for your support!
