.
It is unfortunate you had polio as a child. It made life challenging. One of my favorite books is, “The Man He Became.” It details the life of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It claims that the illness did not create disabilities but strengthened him to become the 32nd President and go on to work to find a cure for the disease.
He refused to let many know that he wore braces and eventually was wheelchair bound.
I would add two more:
First thing you do in the morning, after you pee, is make your bed. It just might be the best thing you do right all day.
And
The only clothes that belong on the floor of your room are your shoes. Everything else has a proper place, clean or dirty. (My mom taught me that lesson early on when she concluded that if I left some article of clothing on the floor I must not want it. So, she would throw it away and not replace it. After the loss of a pair of socks and some underwear, I got the message. It has stuck with me to this day!)

#1 is the rule for women. They stay seated. Of course, they don't have to run for a chair when someone wants to shake their hand. Also, a man should never offer to shake a woman's hand. That's the woman's choice.
Very good advice overall.

You're obviously a teenager.
That’s a really good list - much better than most. On my first day at college, I overheard one of the fathers say to his son “Don’t make any mistakes.” I thought that was a ridiculous standard to set for a teenager.

I bet that kid was glad to get out of the house.

OH come ON!! Inquiring minds wants to know. Scruples great list and a lot of wisdom in there.
There are a number of good rules of thumb in there. Thanks for sharing them.
The statement about your pets loving you is ever so true. You can put your dog and wife in the trunk of the car and when you open it, your dog will be happy to see you. Your wife, not so much so!😜
