Thank you Scruples for starting this thread. We can clearly see how many hogs live by the good old rules. I love it!

Somewhere a day or so ago, this posting stopped being about rules to live by and became a reverie of the rules we used to live by (life we used to live) and I'm lovin' it. We made cracklings too and I still cook with bacon grease and my grandmother taught me to eat raw hamburger and limburger cheese. Still do that too. My favorite sandwich is Limburger cheese and onions on rye bread with a cold beer. All most heaven
My Father loved limburger cheese.
He always warned me to never touch it.
He said if you do your fingers smelled liked there was a hole in the toilet paper.

I think it smells more like socks that haven't been changed in a week. They make a processed limburger cheese that doesn't smell bad but the flavor is only about 70% as pungent (a good thing) as the real deal. But that's OK with me if you folks don't want to eat it, just leaves more for me.

I would like to add a quote from my father. Often times we judge a person by the company he or she keeps.

It is better to judge a person by how they treat someone they have no use for.

Learning is a two-way street. Stop learning, stop living. Just had to say that, Hope I didn't put my foot in my mouth. Lately I've been opening my mouth just long enough to switch feet.

Wonderful rules! I taught most of them to my kids over the years and am proud that they took.
