Great set Chief, good capture on the wasp
Thank you, Jack! We were at a spot on the wildlife drive that I have started calling Dragonfly Corner. But no Dragons there that day
There is usually a Green Heron hanging out around there too, but no Green Heron either!
I was about to give up when I spotted the wasp. I thought he was alone which seemed weird, but when I looked up under the shade roof there was a bunch of them, and they looked agitated. I wanted to get some more shots but decided cowardice was smarter than winning a prize, so we beat feet!!

Great series, especially the heron trying the small turtle.
Thank you, Jim! He didn't just try him, he swallowed him! What a way to go!!
Good set of images Chief. I agree, poor turtle.

I think I have seen Great Blues eat everything but turtles. Great set.

Thanks, Ken. Yeah, I thought Turtles were safe from them because they couldn't crush the shells. Guess not!

Digesting a whole turtle, ouch! Nice hawk shot. I like overcast days for photo shoots.

A rare late morning wildlife drive. At least in the summer, but it was overcast most of the day so not too hot. The GBH with the turtle is known as Crooked Neck, well known by the regulars on the wildlife drive. First time we have seen a GBH with a Turtle!
Yes, he did get it down, poor little Turtle!
I think the star of the show is the Merlin, female, I think. Best photos by far of a Merlin for us!
I hope you like!

Yeah, I wouldn't want to give that a try! The Hawk is a Merlin, a big deal for me. That's the best photos I have so far of one of those! Yep, I like shooting on overcast days too! Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, I like that one too! Actually, I was going through the photos and found a better one with a better reflection. I'll post it. We went back out there this morning for an early morning drive. Very nice, almost cool, low humidity. A tease for things to come, I hope!!
I'm glad you liked the photos, more coming soon!
Do you like Black Crowned Night Herons? I know you like Frogs!

Oh yes...I like black crowned night herons.
I'd probably croak like a frog if I saw one in person.
