I can’t imagine the difficulty of restoring and maintaining one of these beautiful aircraft… a piece of hardware eight decades old that survived a world war; powered by super charged internal combustion engines and still capable of 300 mph. The people that fly them now are every bit the right stuff that made the heroes of yesteryear. My uncle Robert flew Hurricanes with the American Volunteer group in the Battle of Britain. He was ordered home by his draft board only to be sent to Aviation Cadet school at Randolph Field… they sent him to C-47’s in Burma…. Keep on humping guys.
These are my favorite kind of BIF photos. Thanks!
Nice captures. I can only imagine the time and expense of keeping these great machined airworthy.
