This year's theme at the Thunder over Michigan show was WWII fighter aircraft, not necessarily American.
To me, one of the best joint performers was a P-40 Kittyhawk and Hawker Hurricane.

Stories and photo information.

Very well done. When I saw Kittyhawk in the title I thought USS Kittyhawk CV63 Aircraft Carrier. I've spent some long hours on that Flight Deck!

I can’t imagine the difficulty of restoring and maintaining one of these beautiful aircraft… a piece of hardware eight decades old that survived a world war; powered by super charged internal combustion engines and stir capable of 300 mph. The people that fly them now are every bit the right stuff that made the heroes of yesteryear. My uncle Robert flew Hurricanes with the American Volunteer group in the Battle of Britain. He was ordered home by his draft board only to be sent to Aviation Cadet school at Randolph Field… they sent him to C-47’s in Burma…. Keep on humping guys.
