Looks pretty modified. Wheels are mods too. Looks sleek, but not as good as the original car.

It’s VERY modified from the rear wheels back. Wondering if this was a pre formed glass addition? If not, that’s some pretty fancy bodywork to create those tail fins.

Growing up in the '50s there was an older kid in the neighborhood whose family owned their own business and gifted him with a black '57 similar to that one for his 16th birthday. Even though his car made him the coolest guy in the neighborhood he eventually tired of it as it was replaced 6 years later with a '63 Corvette split window coupe...also in black.

Apparently he had an eye for a future classic.

And fortunate to have indulgent parents with the financial means to support his quest for a future classic.

Apparently he had money, that's all it takes.

Is that a stock body Tbird? It looks longer and lower than I remember.

Phew! Thank you for asking. I was afraid I was delusional.

Thse who questioned the body styling....Spt. issue of A.D. 9 Architectural Digest, page 22 shows '57 TBird with fender skirts...filling in the "too much space" issue. The stock setting not as exotic as the one on "Hog". Am a retired marketing exec. with a major import car maker. Know my vehicles, and the TBird was just soso OK for Ford. NOT a sports car at all.

Here’s a side image of the stock ‘57 with skirts and showing that the custom in the posted image has been “stretched” from the rear wheel wheels back… And I don’t think anyone seriously considered it a “sports car” although Ford did build four special versions for racing: https://www.oldcarsweekly.com/blogs/rich-history-of-1957-ford-battlebirds
