Is that a stock body Tbird? It looks longer and lower than I remember.

I believe that's a standard 57' T-Bird body, with some modifications (bumpers, trunk lid, door handles, etc.).

I think you’re right. Comparing it to a stock image, the distance from the rear of the car to the rear wheel well is roughly the same as the width of the wheel well, but on this car,it’s quite a bit longer. Regardless, it’s a nice looking custom.

Beautiful car, tho not stock. Always (and still do) love them, but reality took a little shine off after riding in a few.

Growing up in the '50s there was an older kid in the neighborhood whose family owned their own business and gifted him with a black '57 similar to that one for his 16th birthday. Even though his car made him the coolest guy in the neighborhood he eventually tired of it as it was replaced 6 years later with a '63 Corvette split window coupe...also in black.

Apparently he had an eye for a future classic.

We wax ecstatic about vintage cars right until the moment you drive one and realize how much cars have improved in 60 years

If I was going to go to the trouble of lengthening the rear, I would’ve closed up that rear wheel well a bit. Just my thoughts . . . .

I’ve seen a ‘57 T Bird replica identical to this one and it was sporting fender skirts. Either way, I’d like to be driving it to church on Sunday.
