During Amazon's prime days in July, I ordered a new Fire 10 because with a credit for my old Fire 8 I could get the $150 tablet for $39. It was delivered the next morning before I woke up.

We live in South Florida and speaking about fast delivery. At 11.30 am last Monday I ordered from Amazon a watch for my wife, the order stated it will be delivered between 2 am and 8 o’clock next day. That was good news because we were going on vacation that Wednesday. We had gone for a walk about 7 pm that evening and upon our return home the package with my wife’s watch was at our front door. I have been an Amazon customer for several years and I will continue to enjoy their service for any purchases I need to make now and in the future.

You must have a distribution center nearby. I see a lot of Amazon truck driving around when I go to different areas.

Don't we all? That's what keeps the economy moving - debt! Even the government owes billions.

I've watched several projects on YouTube that were begun but died because they couldn't get enough financing. In many cases, the people behind these projects had more than enough money to finance the whole thing themselves. That's not how they work, though. Rather than risking their own money, they get loans and pay interest rather than risking their own capital.

I ordered a shirt from Amazon due to arrive today but it's not going to happen. The shirt was shipped from California but the last place it was scanned was leaving Phoenix. A month ago I ordered a book that was shipping from California and the last place it was scanned was leaving Phoenix. I guess someone in Phoenix is going through packages and helping themselves.

UPS and Fed Ex are awesome in my area but USPS is a nightmare. I have the informed mail and in the last 2 months they have lost 3 pieces of mail. Our mail can arrive as early as 1pm or or as late as 10pm. Our regular driver retired 3 months ago and now it's a different driver almost every day.

It's a sad thing when our delivery services are unreliable.

Yikes, your experiences sound like some of my other mail adventures. I only told of one of them. We have the informed delivery email service from the USPS too. Strange sonetimes.

In order to accomplish their miracle delivery feat, Amazon enforces draconian production quotas on their employees. I’d rather have my delivery on a normal interval than to know some poor warehouse/distribution worker is exhausting themselves trying to meet a near impossible quota so they can pay their rent and buy groceries for their family.

My shirt did show up the next day but according to informed mail I was not going to receive any mail that day. Today, informed mail shows that one package will be arriving when there are actually 2.

The USPS informed mail isn't any more accurate than their deliveries.

This is not what we should be experiencing.

That's a nice sentiment, but don't assume that poor service is the result of workers who are treated well. Yes, it's true that workers across the country are underpaid, especially when compared to what the CEOs bring home. My son works with a woman who just quit her second job because she had no time to herself. On the other hand, we do have some control over our expenses.

Complain as we do about delivery problems, it really is amazing how fast things can get delivered. I ordered a ukulele from Italy, and it was scheduled to arrive today. The DHL truck appeared in my driveway yesterday. I paid for it on 8/1, and I received it on 8/3 - from Italy to NY. Shipping cost: $20.00.

Today, I'm going to receive one from Germany. I ordered it on July 26, but it was backordered. It was shipped on 8/1, and I'll receive it today. It was in Germany yesterday. Shipping for that cost $40, but I saved $156 buying it from Germany - Thomann.

My Dish Washer has a thin flexible Tape/Circuit board to control operations. Got damaged with a knife. Ordered from Amazon and was delivered the same day. Not bad service for an obscure part.
