Complain as we do about delivery problems, it really is amazing how fast things can get delivered. I ordered a ukulele from Italy, and it was scheduled to arrive today. The DHL truck appeared in my driveway yesterday. I paid for it on 8/1, and I received it on 8/3 - from Italy to NY. Shipping cost: $20.00.

Today, I'm going to receive one from Germany. I ordered it on July 26, but it was backordered. It was shipped on 8/1, and I'll receive it today. It was in Germany yesterday. Shipping for that cost $40, but I saved $156 buying it from Germany - Thomann.

Yes, there can be good shipping service out there. Usually for a price. I received an order from B&H in two days from NY to CA via FEDEX! I'll now see if FEDEX and KEH can match that later today. The USPS can be really fast too or a mess.

Oh. I recently had a big problem with Amazon. They seem to had lost my order for a newly released DVD in their new Tracy, CA warehouse. They seem to have some bugs in their system there and likely new employees need more training. It even took some doing to get a refund. Yesterday after cancelling the lost order my wife found it at Vons Market for the same price. I probably should not pre-release order from Amazon any longer. Usually my items come from their San Bernadino, CA warehouse with no problems.

I ordered a shirt from Amazon due to arrive today but it's not going to happen. The shirt was shipped from California but the last place it was scanned was leaving Phoenix. A month ago I ordered a book that was shipping from California and the last place it was scanned was leaving Phoenix. I guess someone in Phoenix is going through packages and helping themselves.

UPS and Fed Ex are awesome in my area but USPS is a nightmare. I have the informed mail and in the last 2 months they have lost 3 pieces of mail. Our mail can arrive as early as 1pm or or as late as 10pm. Our regular driver retired 3 months ago and now it's a different driver almost every day.

It's a sad thing when our delivery services are unreliable.

There is a Italy in Texas. That sounds more reasonable than over 4000 miles and 15 hours by plane.
But I'm no Use expert.

And there is a Rome in NY. One uke came from Italy a day early (DHL), and the one from Germany arrived yesterday. It was in Germany on 8/3, and it was in my living room on 8/4 - UPS.

I'm still waiting for one to arrive from China and another to arrive from England via Amazon. Amazon USA sells items that get delivered from other countries. One of my favorites is the Allsorts licorice candy from England.

You seem to collect ukuleles like I collect cameras, Jerry. But I think I have reached my saturation point. In fact I need to start thinning my herd some.

Well, these actually came from England, Italy, and Germany. They are all individual stores that ship internationally. Even the English candy from England has been shipped from England - with the English postal labels.

I'm not so much a fan of licorice as a fan of Allsorts. I remember liking that candy when I was a little kid shopping in the A&P with my mother. It's delicious.

We live in South Florida and speaking about fast delivery. At 11.30 am last Monday I ordered from Amazon a watch for my wife, the order stated it will be delivered between 2 am and 8 o’clock next day. That was good news because we were going on vacation that Wednesday. We had gone for a walk about 7 pm that evening and upon our return home the package with my wife’s watch was at our front door. I have been an Amazon customer for several years and I will continue to enjoy their service for any purchases I need to make now and in the future.
