Thanks ever so much for the recommendations, Canonclikder. I'm always looking for ways to stage my collection of specimens before the camera and you have me thinking of ways now. I've tried dry mounting, however, they are best suited for display rather than handling as I need to do. Also, fine bits often fall off which may not be noticed to the unaided eye yet are quite obvious when viewed under magnification. It's both a journey and an adventure.

Hope your adventure with the Wolf Spider also helps with your other spider 'shootings'. This one is up, close and wonderful.

I have started my 'terrarium' with the 2 life wife found in the Big Morongo Canyon Preserve on the Boardwalk during our BIG rainstorm (Big RAINSTORM means very light misting in the desert). They were 20' feet apart.

One old strawberry, decayed cottonwood, and dried cottonwood leaves were served meal. I took the 2 and dumped them in with the earth, but only saw one go in. Don't know if the 2nd one is in the 'terrarium' or not. If not where did it go? I'll watch for the. next few days. Also, Ant Lions were found nearby so I added them so in a few days I'll be watching to see what life exists. I do hope I'll have a benefitual community.

Canonclicker, I'm eager to see your progress. We should be very thankful that ant lions are as small as they are for if they were larger, we would be in great peril. They are amazingly ferocious critters.

If we were larger I'd hate to slide down any steep, dusty slopes for fear go what lies beneath.
