I sort of rambled on my trip to the Midwest. I don't usually play tourist, but this time I did. Here are a few shots taken along the way. Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did taking them! I'm sort of in love with rivers, and have wanted to get the Missouri for a long time. I followed it half way across Missouri!

Like them all! I love rivers as well. That spot, the confluence of the Mississippi and the Missouri was the actual starting place for the Lewis and Clark expedition. You were in fine company!

Thanks. I'm glad to not be the only one! I knew about the L&C exp. I followed their trail for awhile in Idaho, so decided I should see where they started. I went to the reconstruction of their camp and then followed Rt. 94 that sort of follows the river and could see various locations along the way. Neat trip.

Yep. We've done that too. It's remarkable, they made that trip over two hundred years ago through an unknown land with dangers of all kinds every day. They only lost one person, to natural causes, while out of contact with the known world for two years.

I am so amazed and impressed by what they were able to accomplish. I'm sure it was frightening at times; exciting at times; and just plain amazing at times.
