Nice capture, what kind of snake?

Thanks Cloudhopper. Not sure. My brother called it a Ring Necked Snake?? Really interesting coloration. Red and Black but the colors ran longitudinally down his body. Red down his belly, black down his back. I've never seen that before.

Lake Apopka, Florida. Early this Friday morning. GBH with a snake. It took him a long time to get him down the hatch, but that gave me a lot of photo opportunities!
I hope you like!

Love this set, rcpo! How cool that the red snake showed up for your photo shoot...shot no 2 is awesome!

Thank you very much, texan! Yeah, we were pretty close, surprisingly close! And got a bunch of shots. Most of which were keepers. I could have posted a dozen nice ones. My wife says to stop bragging!! Lips sealed!!
And, by the way, I don't think it was voluntary on the snake's part.

With the GBH's voracious appetite, I'm surprised there are any snakes left in the marsh's!! Excellent series, Chief!!

it had to be a lady snake...male snakes aren't pretty like that and lady snakes are slow slitherers so she couldn't get away from her predator.
