Nike kit and sharp images. Enjoy the gear and don't be dissuaded by the boo birds.

A Z 100-400 arrived yesterday in a big brown truck.

Hooked it up to my Z9 and tried a few shots.

A cloudy, cool day. All shots had high ISOs.

The glass is very well balanced even at 400mm-lens barrel extended. Better than the 500pF. Even with my messed up shoulders the rig slews around quite well.

Download and enjoy. What do you think?

I was at Barnes and Noble Sun. One of the British mags (N-Photo I think) showed comparison Imatest numbers for the Z and F 80/100-400 versions. The Z numbers drop off in the 300-400mm range - lower than the F version. The shorter focal lengths were all better on the Z.

I saw that and a few other tests and MTF curves. The Z lens looks real good.
