And therein is a question: Can you shoot fashion with a camera that is out of fashion?

You in fact very well can.

Again, what it says in the above msm article is INCORRECT. Yet it keeps getting reported here.

Nikon has stopped development of DSLRs. Nikon has NOT stopped production of DSLRs.

This is from the Nikkei article that the above MSM article referenced:
"From now on, Nikon intends to focus on digital mirrorless cameras, but production and distribution of existing SLR models will continue."
source: https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Business-trends/Nikon-to-stop-making-SLR-cameras-and-focus-on-mirrorless-models

This year, something like 30% of their camera sales came from DSLRs, so I don’t see Nikon in a hurry to lose that DSLR revenue. DSLR production and sales will continue. However as revenue continues to decrease on the DLSRs, there will come a point beyond which it won’t be profitable to produce them.
Again, what it says in the above msm article is IN... (show quote)

I was going to say the same thing for the fourth time in this fourth thread on this subject in a week, but you said it perfectly.

if you say so you don't need to know about composition, lighting & the exposure triangle, just buy a camera 😂

That is UHH Mantra #1, expressed every single day, twice on Sundays.

DSLRs are going the way of film cameras. If you can't see this you must be blind.

Will

There are film cameras that are still being manufactured.

Do you mean the $20,000 Leica M-A? Or, just the disposable models they used to place at every table in the wedding reception?

B&H has the Leica M-A listed at $5595, not $20,000. Also the Leica MP 0.72 is listed at $5695.

Mirrorless cameras won't make you a better photographer. They may make it a bit easier to take better images but, then again, maybe not. It's what you do with a camera that makes it.

When you change to shooting a mirrorless camera, you already know you're a better photographer.

Not many. Leicas, which are toys for the rich. Lomography makes some medium format and other odd offerings, they offers a 35mm kit camera. It is not an SLR. There is the Ilford Obscura Pinhole 4x5 film camera. Then there are the one time use cameras.
