I had my Nikon D5 in a concert and the “clunk-clunk” of the mirror was defining I was glared at by the parents

I used to take pictures for a local theater group with a DSLR. During intermission, one of the theater people asked me to stop taking pictures because someone complained about the noise. This was in a small theater near the road with lots of traffic, the air conditioning running, people talking. The occasional click-click was a big problem.

And IBIS
And better RF lenses
And EVF for focusing
And EVF for image review
And 45MP on a full frame sensor
And 8-way thumb-nibble
And eye-tracking AF
And 20 fps silent shooting
And 8K uncropped video
And better than DSLR battery life
And no view finder blackout
And built-in mic for voice notes, with dedicated button

The EOS R5 changed how we think about mirrorless, how we think about photography, how we think about life.

Things that may matter to some people.
(Nothing on that list is a vast game changer for me. Niceties, but not game changers.)
For those where these things matter, they should go for it!

I think all of this means that anyone that can turn out a great photo with a DSLR must be a better photographer than even the best photographer with a mirrorless. Because how else could someone turn out a good photo with such an antiquated piece of caveman garbage?

By using only the best chisels...
Not the cheap ones.
(Not the cheapest editor either.)

To which the mirror replies "Yes.".
(The mirror on the wall has a sense of humor also.)

Different (better) sensor? Different (better) image processing?
I seriously doubt it's simply because the mirror is missing.....

The auto focus is Amazing! The EVF, being able to see what the photo will look like before it is taken. If it is too sunny to review on the LCD screen, being able to look thru the EVF to review photos is wonderful. I have to put on reading glasses to see the viewfinder and with looking at my photos thru the EVF without having to put on readers is a huge game changer for me. The only thing I would change is....wait...Nothing!!! lol.

Definitely! When I wake up every morning, my first thought is about how Canon has changed my world! And I don't even have a Canon R5.

I was referring to resultant image quality, not the amenities utilized in obtaining it.

Think back to when you knew nothing about mirrorless cameras. Would you still want to be that person?

No, no, a thousand times no. : )

Actually, mirrorless cameras are a fringe element in my life. If I needed a good, new camera, I would look at mirrorless, but I would also look at the available DSLRs. It's not like the difference between prop planes and jets or manual vs automatic transmissions.
