Thanks Rob, I had to order a 82mm ring to use my Lee filters on 24-70mm f2.8s and now 4 days rain in the forecast.

Congrats on the new accessories! Those skies will part and you'll be ready! This is coming from a guy who's lived most of his life in the PNW(Western Washington), we are no strangers to rain! I only mention this because I had acquired a new prime lens(24mm) last month and 6 days of gray, cloudy and rainy days followed...... Looking forward to more of these great sunset images!

Nice shot. I have a question about technique. I see the sun is still above the horizon and yet there are abundant stars in a dark sky. Is this a composite, then? Or did you employ some other technique? I'm interested, thanks.

Thanks Nick, This was 11 mins after sunset and what you see is a very distant cloud still getting direct sunlight. It is a simple process and using a tripod take all sunset pictures after the stars come out take a stars picture. You process the sunset to your liking. I open the sunset and stars as layers in PS CC then put the stars layer on top of the sunset then add a mast to stars. In Layers you change Normal to lighten and only lightest part of the stars layer shows through to the sunset layer. You use a black brush on the mast to remove unwanted stars on the sunset. There are million ways to do this in PS CC but I find this one works. I use LR, PS and Pro Panel really puts a nice to finishing touch to my images.
