You can clone out the worst of the distractions in the background (cord? in the curtain) and then select the background to deliberately flatten, soften and darken it. You don't need to try to get rid of every wrinkle in the curtain. Just subduing it will be enough to stop it from being a distraction. Do the cloning first, then do the crop, selection and adjustments. This is with the very small image that you uploaded.
