be sure to post your results here. i really want to see your fireworks.
If you’re taking fireworks, best to use a tripod, set your focus on manual and preset it to roughly where they are taking off. If you don’t have a remote, you can set your camera to bulb. When you depress the shutter button, hold it for the entire flight of the rocket and explosion. You can record the entire flight of the rocket and additional rockets. This works very well if the rockets go in multiple directions.

Nice shot Steve, there's a lot to shoot there.

Leflers Mill in Marietta, Georgia. Early morning with rising sun adding a little backlighting.
You better hang that on a wall somewhere.

I know it's early and I didn't get much opportunity to join you today, but we are headed out to some fireworks soon - my gear is packed and we'll be leaving soon. Going to a mountaintop this time and not so sure how this will all turn out, but at the least, I might be able to catch the Milky Way.

Thank you. SteveZas......thumbs up
Also, on the fireworks, it will probably be getting dark. You probably could extend the shot for 10-15 seconds depending on if the rockets overlap a lot. If they do, one to three explosions will be enough. Either you will blow out the shot or too much overlap destroys tfe beauty of the crowning explosion. Experiment a little. In a larger venue they go in all directions. Some of the smaller towns just shoot them all in the same direction. Just remember that as the rocket shoots up, you are just exposing that trail. Non overlapping trails record very well. Iso also can be low at probably f8. Make sure to take off any filters over the lens ( polarizers, uv, graduated etc ).

How many cuttings do you get off each field and what kind is it? We used to get three cuttings each growing season down in Coon Holler of either sweet clover or alfalfa. Loved the smell of fresh cut alfalfa! Your dandelion is Dandy btw❗️👍👍
Mostly orchard grass with some timothy, in a good year two cuttings, most years only one, when I was a kid working on the neighbors farm, a lot of alfalfa, usually 3 cuttings a year, in an exceptionally good year we could sometimes get 4 cuttings
In honor of the revolutionary soldiers who fought to allow us to celebrate the July 4 holiday. Monument is located at Valley Forge National Park in Pennsylvania.
