All the local greenhouses have given me permission in the past, but I still make a show of asking every time to avoid any friction with new employees. It helps that I point out that my wife is going to probably fill up a flatbed truck with plants to take home. We are blessed with many of them in our area and a couple of them are very large. We've lost a couple of my favorites in the last several years due to retirements coupled with the heavy competition making it hard to sell the business. I have gone to stores like Lowe's but not very often because they're just not as varied as a rule. One of our nearby larger operations even has an orchid room and a herd of whitetail deer. As mentioned, they're a good way for a photo safari to cost a whole lot less in gas expenses.

Not only Lowes or Home Depot but Costco and my grocery stores. Cell phone or DSLR, whatever I have.
