These two photos are of the area in Eastern Idaho known as Swan Valley. The river is the South Fork of the Snake River that flows from Pallisades Reservoir and eventually into the Snake River.

Please feel free to make any comments,

Beautiful!
Here on the East Coast, our mountains are worn down with age, but I still love driving towards them and seeing them rise above the valleys. Where I live in Southern NJ, an outer coastal plain, the average height above sea level is 85 feet.
I've driven cross-country, visited various states, driven to the top of Pike's Peak and never get tired of those soaring, craggy western mountains.

Thank you very much George for your comments and for stopping by to take a look. I grew up in NYS and like you did not see many real mountains until I got to the Catskills or Adirondacks. But as you say, they were pretty old when I was young. The three of us are much older now. I love the West and cannot see myself ever living on the East coast again. I visit aunts, uncles, cousins and granddaughters (we pretend we are visiting their parents too but it is the granddaughters we really want to see) and love visiting them but only for a while.
