These two photos are of the area in Eastern Idaho known as Swan Valley. The river is the South Fork of the Snake River that flows from Pallisades Reservoir and eventually into the Snake River.

I love that area and there is a wonderful ice cream shop at the junction of the road to Victor. Square ice cream cones. Nice shots of a beautiful place.

Many "Vast Area" landscape pics don't quite pull it off. Your #1 has achieved it so well - the natural color and weather bleached, faded open territory has great appeal - you have maintained depth in the pic while resisting the temptation to use (or over use) contrast and saturation. A great picture.
P.S. Your download shows amazing sharpness.

Thank you alberio for taking a look. I appreciate your comment as well. If it is the ice cream shop I am thinking of I have been there and have truly enjoyed the ice cream too. Quite yummy stuff. I wonder if you have ever gone to Reeds Dairy in Idaho Falls. It is all home made and just plain delicious. Their huckleberry shake is my favorite.

Well gosh darn, THAT was a heck of a nice thing to say. Thank you very much. To be honest I had not looked at a download of my own photo. I seldom do. I run them through cropping and then minor post processing and that is it. I have to say I agree with you about sharpness. My thanks goes to my Sony RX10IV and its great lens. Other thanks and much appreciation to you for a wonderful comment.

Thank you Jack. It truly is quite beautiful. The fact that a number of eagles call it home makes it even more so.

My comment 9opinion) applies only to photo No.1.

Slight overall increase in contrast and saturation then in a separate mask of the mountains only another increase in contrast and saturation followed by adjusting exposure of the mountains to taste I'll make an attempt and send it to you in a Private Message.

Thank you. I did receive the PM. As I pointed out I have no PP programs to do that other than sliders for contrast and saturation. Masks etc. are not in my bag of tricks. I appreciate your comments.
