It's a Chinese company. You figure it out.

DJI owns a majority stakes in Hasselblad. Actually the most significant innovation from DJI is their invention of the quad copter control system. It's humanly impossible to fly a quad copter without the computer assist.

The discussion around nostalgia for older cameras is, I think, quite revealing. It seems to be signalling that, in the long run, maybe the innovative, the "latest and greatest," isn't nearly as important as the "flash in the pan" that grabs our attention today. It's actually a pretty common theme that comes up in discussions here and elsewhere.

Maybe, in the final analysis, it is more important to have a reliable, dependable, familiar performer. This has been very good to read and think about. I'm going to put all thoughts of new or different equipment on hold for now. Instead of going out looking for a second D850, I'm going to pull my D810 off the shelf and remind myself of just how much I liked it when I bought it.
The discussion around nostalgia for older cameras ... (show quote)

Personally, the nostalgia is not so much the equipment in and of itself, but more so the reminder of a particular time in my life, and what I was doing or learning.

As far as I am concerned, this would be the wrong conclusion. We can admire innovative accomplishments of camera makers of the past without wishing them back. I am happy with my state-of-the-art Sony mirrorless camera without feeling even the slightest bit of nostalgia.

On reflection I didn't write that very well. But I do know that I'm developing a whole new appreciation for my D810, despite having and using two newer cameras as well.

Right! That's why I bought several old film cameras from eBay - memories of days past.
