Going tomorrow at 11:30. I have with me D7200 (and D3200) with
Tamron 18-400
Sigma 1.4
Tokina 11-20 (2.8)
(Yes also other lenses but not considering fir this day).
Bringing the D7200 with which lens?

You don't need tele photo lens but a wide angle. I had been there, you are not allowed to use flash, neither tripod in the Canyon. the 11-20 f2.8 is what you need. Good luck and have fun!

You only need to bring the tokina. When I was there I used my nikon 10-24 & it was a perfect range for the tight quarters. I 2nd the idea of doing horsebend at sunset. Super beautiful.

Tough call, last time I was there I was shooting with a D3 with 28-70 and also with a 17-35 lens. You need to be with a photo tour to use a tripod. The picture was shot at 35mm. I would go with the Tokina 11-20, you can always crop.
While you are there stop at Horse Shoe Bend at sunset, the sun will be a little north but still a great picture.

Masterfully shot pair πŸ†πŸŒΏβπŸŒΏπŸ†

Just getting back again. Hopefully everyone helped you to get the pictures you wanted. I have been to both Antelope Canyon and Big Bend. I was shooting in the non-photographer times too (we had three kids, two adults, and one photographer - me; too costly otherwise). It gets dark in the back of the canyon. But f2.8 should have been enough light gathering power.

Wider is better for Antelope Canyon. My Tokina 11-17 was just right on my 1.5 crop sensor Sony body. I understand that they have discontinued the photographer's tours and no longer allow tripods or monopods. Check with your tour guide company.
Do NOT change lenses when inside the Slot canyon or even in the truck that will take you from Page to the Canyon lest your camera become contaminated with dust.

I read all your posts and thank you very much . Except dross oi only read them after the fact as I had no WiFi or phone service . But I did the the Horseshoe Bend (since we had time ) then the slot canyon with the Tokina 11-20 2.8 and it served me well - took some iPhone8+ pictures as backup , my wife was also shooting small Lumix and iPhone . Of course it is all in the camera and I did not bring computer etc to download- after all I still have two more 64MB empty cards and my D7200 says room for 700+ pictures (RAW). Thank UHH for being a quick resource .

Yes I know better than to change lenses , is why I brought the D3200 but could not bring that today as they do not allow backpack nor tripods nor monopods nor walking sticks into the slot canyon and I did not want (and would have trouble) hanging it on my belt with Peak clip on the side - the slots are narrow and I am somewhat wide (but even for leaner ones ….:)

Just checking back in. Hopefully all the suggestions helped you to get some of the photos you wanted. I wished I had a f2.8 lens for the back end of Antelope Canyon. It can get dark in the back end of the canyon if one has not booked a more expensive photographer's time. I also hope you got to see and photograph Big Bend. It does take a really wide angle lens to be able to properly capture it with one shot.

I took my f2 12mm and the photos were ok, just remember you won't be allowed to stop for long so you might want to set your camera before you go down the ladders, have fun
